Practical IT for small offices, sized to your business

You need someone who knows your setup, picks up the phone, and fixes things properly the first time. That's me. Start with a $195 assessment and decide from there.

What's covered

Everything that keeps an office running

Workstations

New PC setup, repairs, upgrades, and a plan for replacing machines before they fail.

Printers & scanners

Installation, shared printing and the "offline" mysteries. Field note.

Networking & Wi-Fi

Wired and wireless networks that stay up, with separate guest Wi-Fi for visitors.

Email

Setup, moves between providers, messages that don't arrive, and account cleanup.

Backups

Local and cloud copies, with restores I actually test. Real fix.

Security

Two-factor sign-in, a password manager, updates, and removing access for people who've left.

Remote support

Many problems get fixed in minutes, without waiting for a visit.

File sharing

Shared folders where everyone can find what they need, and only what they should.

Vendor liaison

I'll call your internet provider and software vendors so you don't have to sit on hold.

Ways to work together

Retainer or on demand, sized to your business

Every office is different. Choose the arrangement that fits how you work, and change it as your business changes.

Assessment

$195

A review of computers, network, backups, email and security, with prioritized, plain-language recommendations.

On demand

Call when you need me

No commitment. Flat-priced projects and fixes whenever something comes up, with any work beyond the quoted scope agreed with you before it starts.

Retainer

Ongoing support

Regular check-ins, updates, monitoring and priority response for a predictable monthly arrangement, sized to your headcount and equipment.

Equipment is billed separately and only with your approval.

Why it works

The same person every time

There's no ticket queue and no new tech learning your network from scratch each time. I also write down everything I set up, so your office never depends on one person's memory. That includes mine.

Client feedback

“I had tried unsuccessfully to solve this problem with our previous IT company for months. I had all but given up. But the helpful person from Suburban Office got it solved first try!”

Common questions

Do I have to sign a contract or retainer?
Not to get started. Begin with a one-time assessment or call me when you need help. If you want predictable, ongoing coverage, a retainer is available, sized to your business.
Can you support remote employees?
Yes. Most issues can be fixed remotely, and I come on site anywhere in the Northwest Suburbs when something needs hands.
What size business do you work with?
Mostly small offices, from a single owner up to a couple dozen people. If you've outgrown what one person can support, I'll tell you.
Do you handle email?
Yes: setup, moving providers, delivery problems, spam and account security. Most offices I work with use Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
What do you not do?
Electrical work, in-wall cabling, and anything illegal. For everything else, just ask.
